Warm Natural’s latest release, Golden Hour, is a pure expression of dreamlike wistful melancholy. Distant ethereal synths permeate this release, punctuated by a retro future machine funk groove. Fascinated by the unreliable nature of the mind and the psychedelia of everyday life, Warm Natural’s work explores the dichotomy between memory and reality. Subtle longing and romanticism are suffused through each of the two tracks on this EP, delving into the recesses of a faded nostalgia that we are not quite sure ever happened. Sadness and longing, exuberance and contentment, are carefully woven into this release with an evocative familiarity. Like the slow crawl of the sun over the horizon, this is Golden Hour.
